Marriott Stellaris & Casino in San Juan

We enjoyed staying at the Marriott Stellaris in Old San Juan. They gave us a nice room on the 17th floor that overlooked the ocean. (There was an small additional fee for that & I don't recall them disclosing at the time of booking or front desk,  but would have agreed to it as the view was amazing- just be aware!)

There was also a resort fee. We were using Marriott reward points so we gladly paid the additional fees and think they do a great job in  rewarding loyal customers.
 My favoritre thing about this hotel is watching the weekend dancing. In the past it was Salsa, Puerto Rican Salsa because they say Puerto Rico that you learn to Salsa before you learn to walk! But this visit there was a band that encouraged Merengue Dance .  Listen to the beginning of the dance origins- I had never heard how it was related to slavery. That changes how I watch the dance.
So that is the Number 1 reason we like to stay at the Stellaris- the dancing. This time we had an extra day and enjoyed hanging out at the pool after shopping in Old San Juan!

 We even got to sample the 3 starred Rum, Ron del Barrilito, the locals rave about.....might be wasted on our palates.

That night Jim won $42 in the casino, I lost $20 and we left! Boarding Jewel of the Seas tomorrow.
